Jecoliah Chien, co-founder, violin
Violinist Jecoliah Chien is an accomplished performer and dedicated educator whose career spans orchestral, chamber, and solo engagements across the United States and abroad. As co-founder and violin faculty of Greenwich Music Tutors, she draws on a broad range of professional experiences to inspire students of all ages, guiding them toward both technical mastery and a deep appreciation for musical artistry.
Her orchestral career includes performances with the Fort Greene Orchestra, Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Canton Symphony Orchestra, Akron Symphony Orchestra, CityMusic Cleveland, and the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, often in leadership roles. She has appeared at renowned festivals such as the Tanglewood Music Center, Aspen Music Festival, Caroga Lake Music Festival, Rome Chamber Music Festival, and Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, serving as Concertmaster, Principal Second, and guest artist.
Equally passionate about chamber and solo repertoire, Ms. Chien has performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Royal Concertgebouw. She has earned recognition with top prizes at national competitions, including the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and multiple concerto competitions. She made her debut with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra at the age of fifteen and has since performed extensively in both orchestral and chamber settings.
Ms. Chien holds a Master of Music from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Music from the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings, where she was awarded a full scholarship at the age of sixteen. In addition to her teaching, she maintains an active performing schedule, appearing regularly with the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, and in chamber and orchestral engagements throughout the New York City area. Through her dual roles as performer and educator, she is committed to advancing musical excellence, fostering creativity, and cultivating a lifelong love of music in both her audiences and her students.
